Day tour from Bogota. Spend a day doing multi-pitch traditional routes and / or single pitch sport routes in Colombia's premier climbing destination. Private transportation from Bogota included.

Overview

Las Rocas de Suesca is a towering gray cliff that stretches for over a mile. It is the birthplace of rock climbing in Colombia and is the sport's local mecca because of the sheer quantity, variety and quality of its routes. Suesca's surprisingly bullet hard sandstone wall has over 300 routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.14 YDS (4 to 8b+ French) and has everything from slabs to roofs and from splitter cracks to huecos. The highest section of the wall is 430 feet (130 meters) high and climbed in four pitches. Aside from its long unbolted lines Suesca also has a great collection of single pitch sport routes.

No matter how hard you climb or what type of climbing you like Suesca has everything to make you happy: awesome routes, great views and fresh air only an hour and a half away from Bogota.

Itinerary

  1. Climbing in Suesca

    Day 1: Climbing in Suesca

Your guide picks you up at 7AM in Bogota and you drive north for an hour and a half to Suesca. During the drive you discuss what grade (difficulty) you want to climb and what type of climbing you want to do and your guide selects the best routes for you. The walk from the car to the start of the cliff takes only five minutes but the wall is so long that the farthest routes can take 25 minutes to get to. You spend the day climbing on excellent rock and enjoying the view of fields and forests from hundreds of feet up. At around 5PM you make the drive back to Bogota.
